Privacy Policy
Distill is built on one principle: your reflections belong to you. This policy explains, in plain language, what Distill collects and what it does not.
What stays on your device
- Your daily entries, follow-up answers, weekly focuses, and Ledger items are stored on your iPhone, encrypted.
- Voice is transcribed on your device. Audio is discarded after transcription; only the text is kept.
- If you turn on iCloud, your data syncs through your own Apple iCloud account. We cannot read it.
Optional cloud analysis
The Weekly Distillation can use a cloud AI model for deeper analysis, but only if you opt in. When you do, that week's entries and your current focus are sent securely for processing and are not retained by us or stored by our AI provider after the response is returned. You can turn cloud analysis off at any time in Settings.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use advertising or ad trackers.
- We do not use your entries to train AI models.
- We do not require an account; Distill uses your Apple ID through iCloud.
Analytics
We collect limited, aggregate usage information (for example, how many entries were made in a week) to improve the app. It never includes the content of your entries.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment details.
Your choices
You can export all your data or permanently delete it from within the app at any time. Deleting the app removes the data stored on that device.
Not a medical service
Distill is a reflection tool. It is not therapy and not a substitute for professional care.
